Biking + Hiking: Spinning and aerobic classes have nothing on our natural biking and hiking trails!

Biking and hiking are not only healthy alternatives when choosing your next holiday but both are economically, socially and environmentally sustainable forms of tourism. We encourage you to stay with us for awhile and find out why so many people that call Oakville home take advantage of the more than 140 kilometres (86 miles) of trails. It’s just a small part of why Oakville truly is one of the most livable towns in Canada!

Hiking
To many, Oakville is best experienced on foot, where the sounds of a rippling stream or the rustle of newly fallen autumn leaves highlight the moment. Hiking allows an intimate and unhurried way to experience nature's wonders, birdwatching, or the architectural and historic treasures in our Downtown on Lakeshore Road. In Oakville you can find a range of hiking options almost every day - from relaxing lakeside walks to heart-pumping treks on the Niagara Escarpments on world famous Bruce Trail. The beauty of hiking is that it is personalized to suit your mood.

Come indulge and explore Oakville...one step at a time.

Biking
While in Oakville you will be minutes away from scenic roads that provide a safe environment for your cycling pleasure. You’ll find yourself riding on quiet two-lane country roads without centerlines, where the traffic is at a minimum and the drivers are courteous to cyclists. Frequently it will seem as if you are riding in a tunnel of trees. You will be amazed at the spectacular views.

At the end of your day you’ll be able to stay at an excellent hotel, bed & breakfast or Inn. The restaurants in Oakville will cater to any lifestyle choices you have.

Ride at your own pace and see the natural side of Oakville.
